St. Augustine Lighthouse-Free 3/21

St. Augustine Lighthouse is free this coming weekend 3/21 in celebration of the Lighthouse Festival. It's normally $9/person. It's on AAA's list of 124 things to do in FL off the beaten path. It's worth going to if it's good weather. It's 219 steps up to the top and a great view of the city. There is a museum there as well. http://www.staugustinelighthouse.org/

Cheap Flick

We normally wait for movies to come to us in the form of netflix, but occasionally you miss the theater (or in our case you want to sit in a comfortable chair and watch a movie, we don't have a couch at this time), but then you think about paying $10 and you don't miss it as much. My husband and I went to the cheap theater in Altamonte Springs where their regular price is $1.50, $1.25 before 6pm, and $.75 if you go on Tuesdays. It's called the Picture Show located at 130 E Altamonte Dr, Altamonte Springs (407) 644-7469. It is kind of hard to find, but you can get to it by walking in the Art Boulavard Entrance or driving around back of the plaza. And fyi (if you are anything like my husband who never has cash) it is cash only.

The Best Sub!

If you are like me when you don't do things for free...I think it's called paying for it? you want to make sure you eat something great, seeing something great, or helping a great cause. Here is one of those experiences: Lawless Subs in Altamonte Springs 1/4 mile West of I-4 across from Rooms-to-Go. They make their own bread (which is perfectly crispy and soft). My husband and I had the Italian and I'm embarrassed to say how many times I have thought of that delicious taste the next day. 7" subs were around $5-6, 11" subs $6-8.
