Money doesn't grow on trees

I have been asked multiple times if I work for entertainment book, because I get a little excited when talking about the benefits. You get me started on how great these books are and someone has to distract me with something shiney to get me to stop (or a dessert). I think they are so helpful if you are paired up (meaning have a buddy you do stuff with, i.e. spouse, best friend), and you live in a decent size city. My sweet Mom bought one for my husband and I when we lived in Wilmore, KY (the county got it's first movie theater when we lived there kind of small town) and most of the stuff was an hour away so needless to say we didn't get a ton of use out of it. However our Seattle book has saved us over $300 dollars, and yes that's on stuff we would have paid for anyway. We go out to eat twice the amount, because most deals in the book are buy one get one free (that's where the whole buddy thing comes in). We have also done many museumes, attractions, boat rides, seaplanes (again, all for buy one get one free). Also it has cheap movie tickets in their so you don't have to sell your first born to see a night time movie. And if you buy your 2009 (you start reaping the benefits on November 1st) you get a free 2008. There is a link on the right. Enjoy.

The orange tree is planted

I was born in the Big Apple, moved to Orlando (where I grew up 4-17), went to University of Florida (Go Gators!), moved to Seattle for graduate school, moved to FL for a month to get married, then moved to KY to work while my husband went to graduate school, then together we moved to Seatte, and now we're working on moving to FL to stay put for a little while by family and friends. Whew, most of my sentences will be shorter but I write like I talk (a lot). So while living in Seattle (2 years), KY (2 years), then Seattle again (1 year) I have realized and refined a passion of mine. I love soaking up everything a town has to offer, doing everything once and thouroughly enjoying and exploring where I live (all for a good deal). So while thinking of living in one place for a long time excites me as far as being in community, it also scares me that I won't explore as much because I'll think, 'I can do that later.' My husband and I have committed to exploring FL like we've never lived there and this blog is for me to spread the word of all the fun stuff we're doing and how to do it affordably (aka super cheap or free).
